Project Coordinator

Description: Grade 52 PURPOSE: With the assistance of other team members as needed, develop, oversee and manage the engineering and construction of system upgrade projects from conception to completion creating smooth and successful project activation.

JOB CONTENT / KEY RESULT AREAS
Under close supervision:
Collects and disseminates accurate and efficient field data and plant routing per project including permit and make-ready information if required, to design and or construct as needed via established procedures.
Designs the coax plant manually or using CAD software. Uses Cox Communications techniques and specifications.
Identifies all tasks required for project competition including work breakdown, scheduling and budgeting.
Conducts field surveys to determine Coax / fiber routings, power sources and future marketing possibilities.
Oversees design, permitting installation and activation of power supplies.
Creates cost estimate for entire project through project analysis with respect to all facets of design material needs and labor functions.
Performs quality control on all projects including providing solutions to correct and/or resolve discrepancies and improve the quality of the system.
Performs independent of assistance from supervisor and communicates with other technical departments on engineering solutions while promoting a team environment.
Ensures quality control on all as-built information for compliance with Cox?s broadband engineering parameters.
Attends meetings to establish timelines and point of contact for conflict resolution and facilitates bimonthly project meetings with team.
Coordinates with superintendent and Cox personnel during all construction phases from start-up through project completion. Performs construction quality control on all projects.
Provides standards to engineering and construction contractors to ensure installation to Cox?s criteria and that plant construction meets the specifications of the construction manual, N.E.S.C., N.E.C., local utility practices and other applicable regulations.
Performs technical cable quality control and leakage detection using high tech meters and other equipment.
Tracks budget and time schedules to ensure successful implementation of telephony, data and video services. Monitors and reports project status via in depth tracking reports.
Verifies, approves and tracks all invoices from contractors, vendors and other suppliers.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 1 year CATV or Telephony design or related engineering and construction experience on HFC inside and outside plant.
Other: Demonstrated analytical skills, customer service skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to multitask.

DESIRED

Education: Bachelor?s degree in project management, engineering, or equivalent.
Experience: 1-3 years CATV and Telephony design or related engineering and construction experience on HFC inside and outside plant.
Other:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Working knowledge of fiber optic systems, return plant and aerial and underground utility construction and parameters.
Working knowledge of computer operating systems, including CAD/Visio (computer aided design), spreadsheets, word processing, database and Cox?s JDEdwards program.
General knowledge of drafting techniques and tools.
Project management, organizational and detail oriented skills. Ability to coordinate and motivate multi-disciplines workforce consisting of internal employees and external contractors.
Be an excellent communicator (both oral and written).
