Project Coordinator/Estimator

Job Purpose:

Coordinates and issues drawings and specifications to the shop and orders material for specifically assigned projects.  Responsible for extimating construction costs of projects and change orders.



Duties:Prepares firm and budget estimates of projects such as pipe valve skids, process skids and single lift modules. Monitors project costs to budget and advices management of schedule impacts.  Reviews material take-off and cut sheets, prepared by the drafting department and prepares material requisition.Coorinates with assigned Project Foreman to assure effective utilization of workforce relative to the project.Interfaces with other departments, subcontractors, and Engineering to achieve product quality and timely delivery.Tracks and estimates the cost of change orders.Prepares estimates by assembling product requirements; calculating costs; applying margins.

 

Skills/Qualifications:Formal or on-the-job training or experience in cost control and estimating.Oil and Gas background preferred.Familiar with PI&Ds, ISOs, drawings, etc.Knowledge of drawing specifications, interpretations and materials is necessary.  Working knowledge of fabrication and any drafting experience, engineering and design knowledge is a plus.
