We have an immediate opportunity in our Carlsbad, CA territory for:

Project Engineer, Mechanical

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the mechanical design of respiratory medical devices including electromechanical actuators, pneumatic systems and valves.
Work with project management, marketing, and other technical disciplines and to specify design requirements including performance, cost, and reliability.
Produce conceptual and functional models to demonstrate feasibility.
Work with project team members to identify and mitigate development risks and produce development plans.
Develop and document designs in compliance with Quality System requirements.
Perform and document finite element analysis
Participate in product risk analysis activities.
Work with project team members to formally demonstrate and document adequacy of designs.
Work with Operations on successful transfer of designs to manufacturing.
Successfully complete mechanical verification and validation activities for the product.

Requirements:
B.S. or equivalent in mechanical engineering, Masters preferred.
Unique combinations of education and experience may be substituted if they provide the essential skill sets for the position.
Minimum of 10 years of experience with the design and analysis of pneumatic components and systems, electromechanical actuators, and mechanisms.
Strong experience with die-casting, injection molding, sheet metal and machining processes .
Must be proficient with mechanical CAD tools (e.g., ProEngineer, SolidWorks, etc.). Background with DC motors, stepper motors, solenoids, and various passive and active sensors is desired.
Previous design experience in a regulated environment or under a formal product development process desirable.
Travel of up to 20% will be required, including trips outside the United States.
