We have an immediate opening for a Project Management Specialist located at our customer site in Washington, DC.  The ideal candidate will provide expert analysis and recommendations on life cycle management of Information Technology (IT)-related projects including project plan development and execution, change control, and project closeout and implements recommendations as directed.

 

Responsibilities:

Project Plan and Controls?Analyze. project requirements and recommend a project plan with quality, schedule, and cost controls to ensure that the project activities remain within scope, satisfy requirements in a timely manner within approved budgets, and make the most effective use of the human resources available.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor?s degree or equivalent with more than 7 years of program management experience in an IT project environment and providing expert consulting services to management and technical staff in managing complex projects. 

The Project Management Specialist is experienced in: Project planning and scheduling, including project scope analysis, project plan and schedule development (activity definition, activity sequencing, activity duration estimating) and resource planning. Change management, including the use of systematic methods to manage changes to project scope and schedule as well as organizational change. Project cost management, including cost estimating, cost budgeting, and cost control. Project quality planning and control. Human resource, organizational planning, and team development. Project communications, including establishing informal and formal communications mechanisms for communicating project information and establishing and maintaining status, progress, and performance reports. Integrating procurement activities into IT project plansPossesses knowledge of the state-of-the-art in project management tools and techniques.  Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and MS Project.
