Project Manager MVaR

Client seeks a Project Manager MVaR (Market Value at Risk) 3+ contract assignment for the Houston location. The following is a detail description of the rold:

The Project Manager will be expected to manage the delivery of a Power MVaR solution utilizing a pool of business/technical analysts and on-shore and off-shore development resources. This solution will replace the current solution that is used for MVaR calculations and is expected to be delivered in Q2/Q3 of 2007. Although the team will be mostly in Houston, working with the Solution Delivery and Support (SDS) team in London will be essential. Travel to London would be possible but minimal if needed.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the following:

? Mobilizing the team for new development work

? Scoping and agreeing the Terms of Reference for the project

? Delivering through Design, Build and Test of the solution

? Providing fit-for-purpose User and Support documentation

? Working with Global Operations and the appropriate Functions Delivery Manager to manage the implementation activity

? Status reporting to the SDS Delivery & Support Manager and the appropriate Functions Delivery Manager

? Adherence to development standards and best practice

? Risk and Issue Management.

? Budget and resource tracking/reporting

The Project Manager will be targeted with successful delivery of the project to time and budget.

Essential

? Recent and relevant development and implementation experience, enabling the candidate to be both "hands on" and an authoritative team leader, as the situation requires

? Complete project life-cycle experience

? 5+ years recent IT delivery experience

? 2+ years recent project management in teams of up to 8 people

? Experience of .Net and SQL Server technologies

? Good, clear and concise communicator

? Good team worker with good team leadership skills

? Good coaching skills

? Rigorous attention to detail

? Delivery focused with a strong performance bias and work ethic

? Recent experience of using development and implementation methodology standards, processes, procedures and supporting tools

? Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified

Preferred

? Experience of Market Risk, including development of systems to calculate MVaR (Market Value At Risk) figures, use of different MVaR models, including Monte-Carlo and VCV (Variance Covariance)

? Experience of trading in gas or power would be a benefit

? Experience of Off-shore delivery models would be a benefit

? Experience of Matlab/QuIC technologies would be a benefit
