Project Manager / Owner's Representative - Real Estate Development

A dynamic and growing NYC-based property development company has a unique opportunity available for an owner?s representative / project manager.  You will be joining a small team responsible for the development of high-value projects in major cities in the US and Europe, reporting to the Vice President, Design and Construction.

 

Job Description

? Responsible for one or more projects, and/or aspects of large projects related to the development and refurbishment of new and existing mixed use city-center buildings, all of which include a hotel element.

? Understanding and developing the program to ensure that projects precisely reflect the owner?s requirements.

? Managing the development process to achieve the business objectives of rapid and economical construction

? Reporting on program changes, costs and schedule in a clear and timely manner

? Motivating a small in-house, and large out-sourced team to achieve the business objectives.

? Liaising with co-professionals as appropriate to bring the appropriate skills and knowledge to the resolution of each issue

? Fully understanding current design documents to ensure that they reflect the program objectives of the owner.

? Excellent communication skills

? Excellent supervisory and motivational skills, with multi disciplinary, project specific outsourced teams

? Strong administrative and organizational skills

? Knowledge of the construction industry, from the perspective of at least one of the primary disciplines: architecture, engineering, or construction

? Ability to review and understand design drawings; ensuring the team maintains focus on the drawings so that the program is retained during construction

? Knowledge of code, process and statutory issues that affect construction projects

? An understanding, experience and interest in creative project management

? Strong business focus

 

Minimum Qualifications

? Bachelor?s Degree (Likely to have Master?s degree, and professional qualifications)

? 5 years post-qualification experience in property development and/or a relevant design discipline



? Candidate will have experience in design and/or construction of large city center buildings, preferably including hotels

? Strong computer literacy with MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project (or similar) Expedition (or similar), E-mail and Internet
