Essential Job Description:

Provide administrative support to the R&D department as it relates to New Product Development project activities.  Assist in the tracking and reporting of project schedules, status, and costs. 

 

? Responsible for tracking and updating project schedules based on input received during weekly project meetings and from interaction with project team members.

? Setup new projects within the various R&D Data Systems (Project Folders, Work Entry, Account Codes, Custom Part Tracking Sheet, etc) at the time of product approval.

? Assist in the administration of the Quarterly New Product Evaluation Process.

? Responsible for tracking project costs against budget and reconciling project costs reported in the Monthly R&D Expense Report distributed by Accounting.

? Participates in the weekly project status meetings by taking/publishing notes and action items and performing basic action item follow-up. 

? Provide support to the R&D Logistics Manager on an as needed basis by facilitating project logistics for meetings, conference calls, lunches, celebrations, etc.

? Generate the monthly R&D Work Entry system timekeeping report; follow-up with R&D personnel to ensure that they have updated their Work Entry

 

Experience/Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent work experience; 2-3 years of project experience in the field or in a related area. Familiarity with the Project Management discipline as it relates to New Product Development and/or Engineering Projects; 1-2 years experience with Microsoft Project ? familiarity with Microsoft Project Server a plus.

 

Skills Required. 

? Proficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.

? Familiarity with the use of network/web-based collaboration tools such as Twiki, Skype, UltraVNC

? Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
