Risk Managment Engineer - Energy

Spherion is currently recruiting for one of our top clients in the Denver metro area. Our client is leading competitor in the fast growing oil and gas industry. The risk management project engineer position offers $80 ? $110K and benefit plan with year-end bonus potential.

 

Our client is unique to the oil and gas industry.  While projects range from $10,000,000 - $1 Billion, the majority of project management work will be technical.  That is, the successful candidate will provide significant input to the software development department in order to advance their risk assessment tools.

 

Job Qualifications - The technician / engineer must have had experience in the following areas and the ability to apply this field knowledge in an office environment:

+ Refinery and chemical process equipment

+ Understanding of algorithms associated with proprietary software and its integration

+ Experience in creating complex Excel macros

+ Relational database experience

+ Understanding of pipeline materials and risks associated with distribution and maintenance

+ Oversight of project controls, personnel, both group and individual activity

+ Strong background in risk management, specifically reliability and safety measurements

+ Previous employment with a major oil or chemical company with an understanding of HISYS.

Our client strongly prefers the five to fifteen year experienced candidate.  Therefore the successful candidate is currently engaged in engineering / project management issues.

 

Areas of Responsibility:

* Twenty percent (20%) of time focused on policy and procedures; plan development and review; strategies; acquisition; commercial negotiations; proposal evaluation and proforma.
* Eighty percent (80%) of time focused on risk identification and management; monitor performance in terms of safety, lead new offer integrity / offer development of software; provide SME support to software development department and support QC of new software features where applicable.
