Configuration Management Specialist

 

Objective:
To provide subject matter expertise in the conception, development, and delivery of senior-level configuration management services. 
To provide full-performance configuration management services, to develop builds, version controls and CM tool support for moderate to complex projects.
To provide technical leadership in the development of builds, version controls, and CM tool support for projects of significant diversity and complexity. 
To establishes change control process for assigned projects.
To provide technical guidance in the creation and implementation of change control processes.

 

Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, with an emphasis in configuration management, or the equivalent combination of related training, proficiency and experience
5 to 7 (or more years) related and equivalent experience in software configuration management
Experience setting up and administering SCM systems and processes
Several years of hands on experience with one or more tools, such as the Rational Suite or Perforce
Demonstrated proficiency using configuration management tools and defect tracking tools in conjunction Unix, ANT, Java or Perl scripts, RUP, ClearCase, ClearQuest, or the equivalent and validated proficiencies
Demonstrated subject matter expertise developing build controls, creating baselines, and performing builds
Demonstrated subject matter expertise validating branching capabilities exist for software development applications
Demonstrated proficiency implementing configuration management tools
Demonstrated proficiency creating configuration management plans and other CM documentation for assigned projects
Demonstrated subject matter expertise validating that documented procedures exist for the build process and maintaining up-to-date processes
Demonstrated subject matter expertise achieving results through a structured process methodology experience using the Rational Unified Process (RUP), ClearCase, ClearQuest, CMM, Macroscope, or equivalent build and/or defect tracking tools and methodology
Demonstrated proficiency creating configuration management plans, providing build and version control, and CM tool support
Demonstrated proficiency maintaining configuration items, changes, baselines, builds and releases
Demonstrated experience conducting original research and analysis, and the consistent achievement of projected results based on analysis performed
Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills, including making scheduled/unscheduled presentations before diverse domestic and international business development teams, executive management, and external clients
Demonstrated experience using diplomacy to negotiate, to resolve service conflicts, and to persuade others to embrace strategies proposed 
Certified Project Manager certification desired
