Senior Logistics Analyst

 

Position Description:

Duty Station is in the Pentagon providing contract support to the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Materiel Readiness and Maintenance policy.

 

Job tasks include:

- Conducting independent research to assess and provide supportability assessments of Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAP).

- Providing monthly logistics assessments for Defense Acquisition Executive Summary (DAES) Reviews.

- Analyzing Product Support Strategies to ensure MDAP program compliance with OSD policies and regulations are conducted routinely.

- Assessing Program Supportability Strategies and life cycle metrics for supportability and logistics are evaluated as required to support OSD decision makers.

- Assisting in formulating OSD logistics policies and regulations. 

- Assisting in developing and promulgating new and improved methods of logistics support such as Performance Based Logistics and Total Life Cycle System Management innovations.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

- Thorough knowledge of DoD acquisition and logistics management.

- Strong knowledge of major defense acquisition programs.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Analytical and action officer skills are very important.

- Able to work effectively and provide high quality products in a complex and time sensitive environment.

- Ability to work with various levels of Government managers and staff and work with prime contractors and Government support contractors.

- Proficient in MS Office applications.

 

Preferred Experience:

- Eight or more years experience in DoD weapons systems acquisition management.

- Five or more years experience with air, ground and/or  missile defense acquisition programs.

- Three years military staff, joint staff, or PEO experience.

- Program/project management experience desired. Military weapons system acquisition training with Defense Acquisition University (DAU) including Defense Systems Management Courses (DSMC) and others a plus.

 

Education:

Masters Degree

 

Security Clearance:

Applicants must possess a current DoD SECRET security clearance.
