Senior Technical Project Manager

The person in this position will manage software development projects primarily for the GCS Premier product group. They will operate in a matrix management organization environment coordinating and monitoring technical projects from initiation through delivery. This position includes managing projects where much of the work is done off shore in the Philipinnes. They will work closely with the managers and team leaders to create and manage the detailed schedules. They will need to operates under minimal supervision, managing complex projects. They will be responsible for the following Project Management tasks and activities: coordination of the project initiation phase including the scope definition, the estimating process and resource allocation. They will do high level planning to determine the release timeline and key dates. Once the project is approved, they will also be responsible for creation and maintainance of detailed project schedules; issue tracking and resolution; risk management; scope management, progress analysis, management reporting and metrics analysis. They will track project deliverables and progress through continous communication with project team members to ensure that software development projects are completed on schedule and within budget. They also serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments in order to ensure that all targets and requirements are met. This person may also be involved in helping to implement best practice standards as well as manage processes, procedures and documents related to the projects and software releases. Four to six years experience in project management required. Three to fours years experience in software development either in design, coding, QA and/or release management preferred. This person must have the following set of skills: organized and detail oriented, excellent communication and human relation skills, ability to establish goals and set clear expectations, prioritize activities, and follow through with timely execution, strong decision-making skills with the ability to consider a broad range of internal/external factors when problem solving, ability to work in a team environment, etc. PMI certifications or experience a plus.
