Six Sigma Black Belt

Job Purpose Statement :

 

Black Belt is to pursue completion of projects in assigned areas. Mentor assigned Green Belts to project completion and certification. Coordinate and complete Project Identification. Maintain communications with assigned product lines. Complete Six Sigma program goals as assigned.

Reports to Director Quality Management

 

Job Functions :

 

Black Belt Training & Certification

 Completion of training equal to the BSH standard.Certification requires 2 successfully completed projects.Pass required training examsSign 2-year obligation.If Black Belt leaves program before two year obligation he / she will be responsible for training cost.Certification within 12 months of assumption of position, which begins at the end of training.

 

Note : External Certified Black Belt candidates may waive some or all requirements above.

 

Project Responsibilities

 Minimum of two successful project completions per year with significant financial impact or targeting a strategic business initiative.Actively involved in Project Identification process including gathering data to baseline projects.Proper and accurate financial reporting.Lead Black Belt projects through successful project and team management.

 

Training & Mentoring

 Responsible for future training needs as they are identified.Guide assigned Green Belts to complete projects, including savings analysis, resulting in Green Belt Certification.Mentor individuals on Six Sigma Methodology and tools.Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualification Requirements :

 4 year degree preferredHighly motivatedStrong communication skillsTeam OrientedProject Management experience

Knowledge :

 Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to train, instruct, and coach other associates.Strong problem solving skills.Demonstrated people skills

 

Experience :

 

One ( 1 ) year experience in a high volume, high paced manufacturing related environment.

 

Machines, Tools Equipment ( Office and Industrial ) Software :

 

Requires excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.

Experience with Minitab, Access, and MS Project preferred.
