Sr. Business Analyst

Work as a senior member of the Business Systems team to lead implementation of software and oversee process solutions that meet customer expectations by successfully supporting the business process and requirements of the user. Function as the point person and act as a liaison and advocate for the assigned operational area ensuring the quality and timeliness of project deliverables. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining positive client relationships.

 

Responsibilities

?  Responsible for identifying solutions that are cost effective, have high performance, reliability and availability while meeting the overall needs of the business. Utilizes and lead efforts in best practices such as SDLC, Project Management, Quality measurements and tools to ensure successful implementation.

?  A solid understanding of industry best practices in Financial applications. Specific demonstrated experience mapping business processes and comparing those processes to industry best practices.

?  Know and understand the customers? true requirements and assist them in developing strategic objectives, service level agreements, troubleshooting, problem solving, and best practice solutions.

?  Work with the customers to develop detailed requirements to ensure functionality, reliability and trace ability throughout the development, test and implementation of project products.

?  Maintain a constant collaboration with customers and IT in order to define, schedule, prioritize and/or modify requirements in such a way that the customers? needs are being met on a continuous and timely basis.

?  Work with the assigned operational area to become involved with their management teams for the purpose of understanding and appreciating their business process and IT needs. Work with the functional areas and provide expertise in assigned operational area including associated business processes, tools, policies, procedures, and business plans.

?  Initiate and support problem resolution by working with the user to understand the issue and by conveying the issue to the appropriate IT resources for resolution.

?  Perform thorough research analysis, functional requirements development, system test plan development and any other research documentation related to all projects identified within the assigned operational area.

?  Assist in new and ongoing SSC IT projects to infuse customer-related knowledge into system development, implementation, and operational activities.

?  Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, and budget in conjunction with Corporate and the Business units

?  Work with project managers and coordinators from the other Business Units and vendors to manage the development and implementation of projects and initiatives.

?  Track project?s scope, budget, and schedule and take corrective actions as necessary. Identify and track project risks, identify triggers, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize the probability and consequences of adverse events to the project objectives.

?  Ensure conformance to Project Management Methodology, Quality Assurance, and other internal SSC standards, policies, and procedures.

Technical Knowledge/Skills

Highly Preferred:

SQL, PeopleTools, Advanced Excel, SAP

Education or Certifications

Preferred:

Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Management or equivalent with significant technical training, CPA.

 

Work Experience

Preferred:

Five to seven years of work experience required in the area of management of information.  Experience to include the utilization of software tools and products to service customers in line with standard methodologies and processes.

? Must be team oriented and have excellent customer service/communication skills.

? Detailed knowledge and proven experience with project, schedule, scope and risk-management techniques.

? Project management experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.

? Ability to balance competing priorities and adjust rapidly to changing priorities, circumstances and/or directions.

? Ability to convert complex data into meaningful information so actionable plans can be developed.
