This Sr. Program Manager position will report to the Vice President of Business Development in the Wireless Business Development Center. Responsibilities include overall program management for product realization  and pre/post launch operations with wireless carriers. Position will be responsible for coordinating across functional teams including hardware, software, and RF engineering, as well as operations and marketing. Position will work closely with other leads and project/program managers to ensure successful and timely launch of quality products. Responsibilities include master schedule creation and maintenance, risk management, information management and coordination across internal virtual teams as well as external virtual teams. Regular reporting to senior management on key development milestones, risks and risk mitigation plans.

Responsible for carrier product realization program management and coordinating with overall product/service/operations program managers.This includes documenting and verifying project scope with internal and external virtual teams including engineering, operational, and marketing teams, project planning, risk and issue register, lessons learned, key milestones and managing relationships.
Effective coordination across all relevant Sony Electronic groups including strategy, business development, product planning, engineering (software, hardware, RF), operations and marketing as well as with external partners to ensure products are successfully launched.
Resources schedule creation and maintenance across various internal organizations and coordination with external PMs as required. Demonstrated capability for planning, scheduling for multiple complex programs. Develop and maintain integrated program master schedule and work plans with project team. Escalate items as necessary to management.
Effective risk management, proactively developing contingency plans to mitigate risk including risk response reports with contingency and workaround plans.
Prepare performance reports that include project standard deviation timelines, task variances, and schedule performance reports related to the overall project


 



Position requires the following qualifications:

Bachelors Degree and 7-9 years related experience with 3 years in program management experience.  Masters Degree highly desired
Experience in complete product lifecycle development
Good understanding of wireless technologies
Strong financial skills
Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively at all levels
Track record of proven business and program management performance
High proficiency with MS Office, specifically Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft PowerPoint
Project Management training or certification.
