Sr Project Mgr, R and D / SOLOMIX

Lead project management of the SOLOMIX program.

1) PROJECT PERFORMANCE


- - Recruits qualified team members and establishes roles and responsibilities
- Provides clear direction on product development requirements to meet expectations of external customers and business stakeholders
- Interacts through program updates and reviews with all levels of management
- Establishes project strategy
- Drives implementation of development programs by establishing development strategy, schedules, budgets, and financial analysis.
Maintains direct involvement with R&D, marketing, and regulatory organizations at Baxter and with external stakeholders.
- Approve team deliverables for project completion


2) RISK MANAGEMENT


- Responsible for making decisions regarding the appropriate risk when there is substantial program impact


3) ADMINISTRATION


- May be technical approver
- Develops and administers team incentive programs
- Recommends, implements, and manages the appropriate program structure and standard performance metrics throughout all phases from initiation to scale-up
- Contributes to the creation and maintenance of historical databases for the purpose of tracking, trending, learning, and improving decisions regarding program performance and continuance. Ensures appropriate linkages of this information to the project prioritization and/or product portfolio process.
- Maximizes business results through continuous improvement in organization's ability to execute programs and projects from initiation to completion and production scale-up.

4) HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT


- Leads development team in defining program strategies, developing goals, and orchestrating team appraisal process
- Provides guidance for team members in close collaboration with their direct supervisor
- Ensures that the development team achieves stated goals
- Manages internal development teams at remote locations
- Selects, develops, and manages direct reports
- Executes effective management of dual line reporting relationships
- Develops future project management capabilities of indirect reports
- Ensures that the appropriate people handle the development and maintenance of documentation

5) FINANCE MANAGEMENT

- Provide financial analysis and justification for new products
- Purchase of supplies and equipment as needed
- May be cost center manager
- Capital Equipment

6) ISSUE RESOLUTION


- Eliminates or minimizes barriers to progress
-- Anticipate potential conflict situation for proactive solutions
- -Manage conflict situations to result in win-win outcomes


Qualifications
1) Minimum: Bachelors degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline, PMP, PMI, IPMA or equivalent Certification


2) Desired: Masters degree or equivalent in related discipline


3) Minimum: 10 yrs. of product life cycle or product development experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company (5 years with Master, 3 years with Ph.D.)
7 years project management experience with increasing complexity, including experience managing multi-geographic division or enterprise-wide projects
5+ years of product life cycle experience
