Team Leader - Income Distribution/Securities Processing/Recon (Open Systems)

The Edward Jones Information Systems (IS) division is seeking an individual for a Team Leader - Income Distribution/Securities Processing/Recon (Open Systems) position that will plan, direct, and manage the activities of a team of associates/contractors responsible for the operation, support, development, and implementation of information systems and related components.

Responsibilities:
-Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships within and across teams and countries, IS Operations leadership team, business areas, and vendors.
-Align team activities and responsibilities with the firm's strategic direction.
-Develop and execute on-going improvements to all processes related to team as well as department opportunities e.g. problem resolution process, systems support for users, etc.
-Ensure prudent use of the firm's financial resources.
-Provide leadership, development, and mentoring to associates through examples and timely feedback.
-Develop successors for key positions on their team as well as cross training opportunities within the team.
-Lead by example, demonstrating firm values.

Qualified applicants will have:
-Bachelor's Degree or equivalent IS experience.
-Three or more years of experience directly related to client/server and web technologies/applications (JAVA, J2EE etc.).
-One or more years of experience in a leadership capacity developing/mentoring associates, and supporting/enhancing applications is preferred.
-Knowledge of mainframe technologies/applications (COBOL, JCL, MVS etc.).
-Detailed understanding of project management methodologies, system development lifecycle, infrastructure best practices and risk management concepts.
-Systems development methodology experience and processes within information systems Change management, QA, etc. knowledge.
-Excellent ability to lead, mentor, train and develop technical associates.
-Excellent relationship-management skills with all organizational levels.
-Excellent communication, organizational, time and project management skills.
-Must be flexible as the expected work environment will require on-call, pager support, weekend, and modified work schedules.
