Training Specialist

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Communication, Corporate Training and Development, Education, Business, or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. In addition, must have at least 5 years or more of experience in developing, and delivering training to end-users. Successful candidate must have experience working with various computer programs and applications to develop training materials that are instructionally sound, and be familiar with the electric utility business: the organizations, positions, and field processes & procedures. Must have a strong desire to learn and work with new software applications. Must possess an excellent ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, have a thorough knowledge of grammar, and the ability to exercise attention to detail. Successful candidate must demonstrate effective facilitation skills, and public speaking skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision. Must demonstrate the ability to take initiative and plan, organize, and manage multiple concurrent and complex projects. Successful candidate must be a self-starter, demonstrate a high level of initiative, and be willing to travel to all areas within the Company. Demonstrate high proficiency in a variety of software applications, (i.e., Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)

Preferences:
Degree: BA/BS. Bachelors degree in communication, corporate training and development, education, business; thorough knowledge of TDBU Training organization and initiatives.

Typical Responsibilities:
Successful candidate (Trainer) will develop, deliver, and maintain training materials, including, but not limited to, training manuals, job aids, training data, and training evaluations. The Trainer will participate in the development of training plans, training schedules and update the Training Supervisor on project status and schedules. The Trainer will identify and make recommendations to the project team regarding issues and problems that arise in the course of developing and delivering training. In addition, the Trainer will act as a liaison between Training and business process owners, business subject matter experts, IT, and various business unit representatives to ensure the successful development and implementation of training.
