Assistant Editor, Data Quality

R.R. Bowker is currently seeking the right candidate for our Assistant Editor position in our Data Quality and Enrichment Department.Position Purpose 

To enforce authority control and enhance data quality and content in the Books in Print database. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. Creation, clean-up and standardization of contributor and series authorities across all markets.Process targeted QA reports on all marketsRegular review of web and CD-Rom indexes and book pages for data errors.Research, compose and input contributor biographies to database.Test new fields and processes in BIPOL and PADOL.Research and add enriched data for all our print and web products.Edit and update production pages especially ABPR and Bowker?s Buyer?s GuideKeep stats on daily requested jobsAnalysis of various data issues.Assist in special projects or reports with other departments 

Knowledge and Abilities  Research and Proofreading skillsPC literateKnowledge in various computer programs (Excel, Word).Ability to be present in the office.Education, Work Experience and/or Licensure College background in English or History preferredBookstore or Library experience2 plus years in prior Editorial experience or the equivalent in related work experience.Language Skills Excellent understanding of English language, oral and writtenBi-lingual skills, a plus
