Assistant Site Editor, Data Center

TechTarget is seeking an Assistant Site Editor for the Data Center Media Group. This is a fast-paced job that involves maintaining and updating the content of SearchDataCenter.com, a site dedicated to the coverage of enterprise data centers. The Assistant Site Editor is responsible for developing and editing newsletters, writing and editing original articles for publication, working with our stable of contributing industry experts and pitching in as needed on other editorial tasks. Candidates will be required to develop knowledge of data center technologies and issues by continually interacting with the readership, speaking with experts in the field, reading information technology publications, and attending user group and vendor meetings. The Assistant Site Editor will also work closely with other staff editors to devise and launch new site features based on an understanding of readers' interests and needs.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

? Excellent knowledge of how to use the Web to find information;

? Writing;

? E-newsletter preparation and transmission;

? Regular interaction with industry experts in the field who support our effort;

? Interaction with our members on an ongoing basis; and,

? Reporting and editing.

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

 

? Writing and/or editing background preferred

? Bachelor's degree (preferably in journalism, communications, English or another relevant course of study)

? Excellent Internet and PC skills;

? Basic understanding of information technology concepts and a willingness and ability to learn;

? Good organizational skills;

? Strong strategic thinker; and,

? Basic knowledge of HTML preferred
