Associate Editor - Fly Fisherman Magazine

PRIMEDIA Enthusiast Media, the # 1 publisher of special interest magazines, is adding to its Editorial Staff for Fly Fisherman Magazine, in our Harrisburg, PA office.  We are currently looking for an:

 ASSOCIATE EDITOR

 

Working with the Fly Fisherman edit team, you will assist the Publisher and editorial staff with the day-to-day functions of the magazine office and maintain editorial workflow on an issue-by-issue basis.

You will join the Editor, Managing Editor, and Editorial Director in manuscript selection and rejections, and in coordinating and maintaining manuscript inventory, making initial edits to assigned manuscripts, properly coding final text for art design and layout, coordinating acquisition of appropriate art and photography for assigned manuscripts, proofing all article layouts and blue-line-stage materials, coordinating return of submitted materials within your pervue, posting articles on the magazine?s internet site, and, in coordination with the Art Director and the Editorial Director, film fly-tying sequences and post them online.

 

This position requires a Bachelors Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field, plus at least 2 years of professional experience writing and editing (newspaper reporting preferred).
