Responsibilities
As member of a centralized editorial team focused on realizing editorial and operational efficiencies for selected publications across practice areas and jurisdictions, the Editor will be responsible for all aspects of publication releases in all media formats. The Editor will collaborate with peers and managers to define the most appropriate production channel for each publication, implement streamlined processes and new tools to improve the timeliness and quality of products.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills, and professional demeanor employed in routine contact with authors, customers, LexisNexis personnel, and outside vendors.
3. Prior LexisNexis experience and PC proficiency required.
4. Strong editorial and proofing skills; attention to detail, style, format, consistency and quality.
5. Demonstrated organizational skills required to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Positive attitude, ability to work effectively and creatively in an entrepreneurial environment.
7. Excellent project management skills and ability to drive schedules.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Accountabilities:

1. Ownership and project management of Editorial, Indexing and Operations components of publication releases.
2. Assess critical needs of publication, the best production approach for each release cycle and determine the use of internal and external resources.
3. Responsibility for all aspects of manuscript coordination and preparation.
4. Responsibility for the management of authors, cite-checking, formatting, editing, proofreading, stylizing content.
5. Analyze content for markup insertion, compose and ensure content and data integrity to meet critical print, lexis.com and CD milestone dates.
6. Responsible for managing outsourcing projects, including drafting instructions and providing feedback to vendors/contractors.
7. Perform quality review of products in all media.
8. Update tracking systems and prepare and analyze metrics and measurement reports, including time-tracking tools.
9. Responsibility of the overall quality and timely delivery of all products assigned.
10. Collaborate with Practice Area Editors to ensure that overarching strategic product changes are implemented timely and appropriately.
11. Participate in research and development of new technologies and procedures.
12. Leverage existing knowledge of tools and processes by cross training and sharing information with team members.

Positions are available in the Albany, Newark and San Francisco offices
