We currnetly seek a Copy Editor to handle daily editing, layout and posting for Education Daily. Education Daily is (as the name indicates) a daily six- to eight-page newsletter covering the latest national policy, political, regulatory and research news in education from the Washington, D.C., bureau. You will lay out edited copy in PageMaker, copyedit and proofread the laid-out newsletter, then format and post copy to the EducationDaily.net Web site.
EducationDaily.com is updated daily. It provides in-depth practical information, tools and current news to state, district- and school-level administrators. You would be responsible for working with the Managing Editor of Daily Operations to select site content, update the site daily, update the databases. You will also work with Executive Editor and ME of Ed Daily on the daily print product and processes.
You will be on the cutting edge of providing information to our readers in both print and Web formats. You will have significant artistic input into the visual look of the newsletter, as well as a voice in content on the EducationDaily.com Web site. Working with the ME Daily Ops, you will have responsibility for reviewing the site to ensure we meet our standards and guidelines. Eventually, you will gain expertise in the subject area.
