Database Project Manager

K-12 Services is the fastest growing division of The Princeton Review. K-12 Services partners with school districts, state boards of education, and related organizations to improve student performance through data-driven decision making. The solutions we create leverage relevant technologies and individualized instruction for each student, teacher, and administrator.
Principle Duties:
Create formative assessments from existing items in our database. Supervise a small team of Content Editors to create assessments specific to client needs. Work with production and technology departments, as well as outside vendors, on several initiatives to update, expand, evaluate, and metatag items in the database. Identify and help find ways to improve the quality of the items and search capabilities.
Tasks:Assign and manage 2 Content Editors (reading and math) to develop assessments that correspond to the test blueprint Receive assessment specifications from the client or project manager and communicate them to project-appropriate staff Participate in the division initiative to update and reconfigure the database to facilitate the creation of K-12 assessments Help evaluate and metatag existing contents of database and identify ways to improve the system Monitor quality of a project?s content at every stage of production and coordinate workflow and facilitate project-specific communication among departments?Accounts Management, Content Editorial, Production Editorial, and Production?throughout the publishing process
Education and Experience:
Master?s degree in Education or other discipline appropriate to the K?12 curriculum (English, Math, Arts & Humanities, etc.). Teaching experience and knowledge of assessment desirable; editorial and project management skills required.
Required Skills:
Must possess project management skills, computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Web); ability to organize and facilitate meetings and presentations; solid grasp of concepts fundamental to educational publishing, including pedagogical soundness, grade appropriateness, and social and cultural diversity; strong writing and editing skills; familiarity with database functions preferred. Must be able to prioritize several projects at once, handle large workloads, and meet changing deadlines. Must communicate and work well with a variety of people, both in-house and out of house.
