Desktop Publisher/Copy Editor

Reston, VA Government Contractor has a newly created career opportunity for a Desktop Publisher/Copy Editor.  The responsibilities of the Desktop Publisher/Copy Editor will include, but not be limited to the following:

 

Design, layout, editing, and printing of the company?s collateral marketing materials, newsletter, website content, and proposals under the direction of the Graphics Manager and Proposal Coordinator.

 

Responsibilities:

 

? Produce written materials and electronic presentations, managing all formatting, text and graphics placement using publishing software to include, but not be limited to MS Word and MS PowerPoint.

? Responsible for editing newsletters, proposals, special reports, and/or online content for clarity, grammar, and corporate style.

? Develop templates to create advertisements, company announcements, brochures, booklets, as well as other marketing promotional materials.

? Assist the Business Development and Human Resources Departments in the production of brochures, pamphlets, flowcharts, briefs, etc.

? Ensure all projects produced are professional in appearance.

? Able to work efficiently under time constraints.

? Ability to convert documents from different types of media as needed.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

? BA preferably in English or Marketing

? 3-5 years professional writing experience, ideally in the Defense and Intelligence services industry or community.

? Editing experience using desktop applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, InDesign, QuarkXpress.

? Experience in preparing documents for printing and gbc binding.

? Excellent oral and written communication skills.

? Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task projects and deadlines.

? Extremely detail oriented, a team player.

? 1+ years experience working in a proposal environment.
