Editor, Creative Services

C Comics seeks an Editor, Creative Services for the DC Creative Services department. Editorial responsibility for custom publishing projects. This includes working with freelance writers to develop stories, text or articles, identification and hiring of other freelance talent (pencillers, inkers, colorists, etc), ensuring that work is submitted on schedule, copyediting and review of submissions at various stages. Works with outside clients to understand client needs and conditions, as well as developing original ideas and solutions in relation to the custom publishing projects. Identify promising new talent. Develop and maintain relationships with existing talent. Responsible for managing complete project life cycle, this will include print and new media platform based projects. Coordinate project efforts between multiple DC Comics? internal departments, external clients and freelancers. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
College Degree or equivalent work experience required. Minimum of 3 years experience in an editorial capacity. Comic Book experience preferred. Experience working in a creative services department, technical or production group on multiple platforms preferred. Proofreading and writing proficiency required. Solid understanding of file formats (.TIF, .JPG, .EPS, .PSD, .PDF, etc) as well as general technical knowledge (FTP, file naming, etc). Knowledge of Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, Abode Acrobat, and InDesign preferred. Excellent organization and project management skills. Ability to prioritize and maintain several projects at once. Ability to maintain relationships with freelancers and clients. Ability to effectively communicate with internal departments and clients.
