Editorial Support Specialist

Responsible for all levels of Macintosh support and identifying and improving editorial processes. Support issues include: troubleshooting and configuration of InDesign/K4 workflow, installing software and/or hardware peripherals, initiating contact with 3rd party software/hardware vendors for problem resolution, upgrading desktop hardware and software. The position will also create and manage projects from proof of concept to rollout such as digital asset management (DAM) and digital photo editing/workflow. In addition to support responsibilities the position requires extensive interaction with the creative staff and managers at the various editorial departments. Perform other job related duties.

A minimum of 5 years support experience in a publishing, graphic arts or manufacturing technology environment. An in depth understanding of magazine editorial processes, as well as technical troubleshooting in mixed PC/MAC environment are necessary. A thorough knowledge of Apple Macintosh-based networked systems is essential. High level understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office for Macintosh and FileMaker Pro necessary. Font management skills and experience working with digital photography is required. Candidates should be detail oriented with a proven history of troubleshooting, as well as strong analytical, communication, organizational and teamwork skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, in a deadline-focused environment is critical to success. A Bachelor's degree preferred.
