Graphic Design Specialist
Job Qualifications
1. College/university degree prefered: 2 or 4 yr trade school acceptable
2. 1+ yr experience in design-for-print: both MAC and PC networked environments
3. Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, PhotoShop, QuarkXPress, Word, PoerPoint, Excel
4. Experience with imagesetting and digital prepress preferred
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
6. Ability to work in a high-production, design-for-print environment: ability to concentrate amid distractions
7. Ability and willingness to learn new software and hardware technologies
8. Able to combine creativity with practical production mentality: excellent organizational skills
9. Good customer relations skills
Job Description 1. Produce jobs in the order determined by the production scheduler
2. Answers all technical and design questions asked by other team members in the shop
3. Keeps organized files and drawers in design service area: archives completed work from prior day
4. When requested, consults with customers: schedules customer consultations on complicated typesetting orders
5. Keeps abreast of new software/hardware/updates through use of manuals, tutorials, and regional training resources
6. 'Upsells' other AlphaGraphics products and services when there is opportunity
