Graphics and Production Manager
The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), a provider of technical information, education, and marketing services to the manufacturing community worldwide, is seeking a highly motivated an experienced Manager, Graphics and Production.
This position will be responsible for managing the development and execution of graphic design strategies in production of media to support business units and goals of the organization. Also responsible for managing the preparation of production project schedules, production specifications, project estimates, and status updates. They will ensure quality and the delivery of materials in a timely manner, manage performance and development of staff and department operations, support the advancement of Lean principles and practices across the organization, partner with process owners to deliver sustainable and repeatable improvements in production activities, along with other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
? Bachelor?s degree or equivalent trade school education in graphic design, art direction, and production
? Minimum five years people management experience in graphic design, art direction, production and desktop publishing environment including financial, staff and operation management experience. Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
? Effective written and oral communication skills.
? Advanced knowledge of graphic design, pre-production and commercial printing and 4-color work required as well as electronic media.
? Expert proficiency in DTP, design, illustration, and photo retouching software necessary as well as through understanding of both MAC and PC operating systems, hardware, and file formats
? Excellent human relations and customer service skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
? Normal office environment.
? Production print shop and mail environment.
