Major corporation in New York City seeks magazine personnel to join their consumer lifestyle publication. We seek creative and experienced individuals in all areas of magazine publishing who will become part of an established and growing publication dealing with lifestyle and issues for an affluent audience. Candidates we seek must have experience working in a sophisticated consumer publication dealing with lifestyle trends.

 

We seek:

 

 

MAGAZINE DESIGNER- $75K- $95K- total compensation, includes base & bonus.

 

Will be responsible for the design of the magazine. Must have a minimum of 5 years? experience as a magazine designer including experience with MAC, scanning equipment, In Design, PhotoShop, Word and image management tools.

 

Responsibilities include:Page layout for each issue of the magazine.Working closely with Art Director on brand direction.Managing projects independently.Manage multiple projects.May supervise additional vendors.

 

PHOTO EDITOR- $65K- $85K ? total compensation, includes base & bonus

 

Will be responsible for organizing, editing, scanning and filing all film for the publication. Must have a minimum of 5 years? experience as a photo editor for a magazine including experience with MAC, scanning equipment, In Design, PhotoShop, Word and image management tools.

 

Responsibilities include:

?  Ascertaining photography need for each issue of the magazine.

?  Meeting needs with appropriate time constraints.

?  Work closely with Art Director to understand & met guideline needs.

?  Manages and maintains film assets.

?  Responsible for photo credits.

?  Manages photo shoots.

 

MANAGING EDITOR/PROJECT MANAGER- $65K- $85K- total compensation, includes base and bonus.

 

Will be responsible for overseeing the production of the magazine. Must have strong project management experience and magazine production experience, including experience with inDesign or Quark layout software. Editorial experience is a plus.

 

Responsibilities include:Creating and maintaining editorial and production schedules.Laying out the pages of the magazine.Coordinating flow of copy to copy editors and fact checkers.Assisting in supervision of freelancers.

 

COPY EDITOR/PROOFREADER- $45K- $55K- total compensation, includes base and bonus.

 

Will be responsible for copy editing/proofreading of articles for the magazine, project management, contributing story ideas, routing story ideas for approval. Must have a minimum of 2 years? experience copyediting and proofreading experience in a magazine.

 

Responsibilities include:Copyediting and proofreading.Project management.Assist in vendor management.Solid English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
