Operator, Print and Document Services Production Center I

OfficeMax Print & Document Services is seeking customer focused individuals who are interested in putting their know-how to work with an industry forerunner. We currently are recruiting for: Print and Document Services (PDS) Production Center Operator I

The successful candidate will operate high speed, digital reprographics and binding/finishing equipment, provide consistent quality control and on-time production, and have strong technology, process improvement and productivity skills and enjoy multi-tasking in a fast paced production environment.

Responsibilities Include:
Demonstrate a Customer First perspective.
Perform all functions in PDS related to bindery production and all finishing applications.
Complete all steps of the production process from order acceptance, production log scheduling and entries to QC and packaging. 
Able to adhere to all quality control standards and consistently apply them to every order.
Take direction to increase efficiencies of production quality and turn-around time through continual process improvement.
Properly use communication tools to ensure work from shift to shift is completed accurately.
Able to monitor and maintain all bindery and finishing equipment. 
Complete preventative maintenance, calibrations and minor repairs.
Operate all vendor programs, maintain order logs.
Follow established safety procedures in use of equipment and in handling product.
Complete all shift responsibilities like re-stocking and cleaning.  Communicate appropriately on center’s supply needs.
Be held accountable to productivity standards and waste records. 
Use appropriate telephone skills to call for equipment / technical service, route calls internally as necessary, occasionally contact customers for order clarification or to address concerns.
Able to multi-task in a fast paced production environment that is subject to constant changes in job duties and assignment. 
 Must be able to work in an environment with strict deadlines.
Able to read work order information to determine job specifications. 
Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and solve practical problems as they arise.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Able to work harmoniously and effectively as part of a work team. 
Perform all other tasks and assignments as requested by the PDS Production Center Manager.



Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
Previous printing, bindery or production experience preferred.
Handle customer inquiries/complaints in a courteous, professional, and complete manner.
Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism and achievement of high levels of productivity.
Handle multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines.
Understand/operate computer systems and technology relevant to related production aspects of OfficeMax PDS operations.
Maintain established productivity standards.
Operate high-volume copying/printing and ancillary service production (binding/finishing, etc.).
Able to lift, move or carry medium-weight objects (up to 50 pounds).
Able to stand and move about for extended periods of time with only short rest breaks; reach, bend, stoop, etc.
