Photo Art Director

We have an immediate need for a Photo Art Director to join the Omega-Chicago Design Photography team of our Elgin Premedia Center. This position will be based in Elgin but will require extensive travel to our client site in Oak Brook, Illinois. The Elgin Premedia Center provides premedia services to the retail, catalog-sales and direct mail markets. We integrate design, photography, prepress, content management, and online services. We also specialize in digital premedia, from desktop publishing system selection to digital cameras, digital proofers and digital presses.

The Photo Art Director will conceive, design and execute retail and direct mail pieces whose messages are visually compelling; execute the creative strategy; manage creative resources in the execution of the work; and ensure that creative projects are completed meeting budget and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities include:

-Works with design staff to develop designs that translate visual/verbal concepts and creative strategy into print advertising. Responsibile for all phases of the creative process from concept through execution. Handles the design, layout, typography and visual ideas for all aspects of the project.
-Works directly with the onsite Art Director, client, and photography studio to determine conceptual approach.
-Maintains the original creative concept of the work so that it stays on strategy, remains meaningful, and visually impactful. Proofs at each stage during the process of a project.
-Coordinates the flow of project materials and ensures that items meet specifications and deadlines.
-Attends client meetings and make creative presentations.
-Proficient knowledge of photo art direction. Will spend time on set working directly with photographers, stylists, and clients.

Qualifications
3-5 years of work experience in retail advertising design with portfolio exhibiting experience.
Computer literate in PhotoShop, Illustrator and Quark and other word and drawing programs.
Able to work as a team with the Creative Team Leader, Writers, Production and Multimedia Designers to create consistent visual/verbal messages throughout all media.
