Pre-Press MAC Operator

MACINTOSH PRE-PRESS OPERATOR


A dynamic, large format printing company in South Orange County has an immediate opening for a qualified and experienced Macintosh prepress operator.

The desired candidate will be responsible for pre-flight checks, troubleshooting, revisions, layouts, job assembly and the selection & application of appropriate work flow for client jobs. This person will maintain monitor color calibration; provide technical assistance to clients and other personnel as required.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES

**  Complete pre-flight checks and revisions to client files to ensure compliance to ICP specifications; including but not limited to resolution, fonts, proportions, PMS colors and special directives.

**  Review and troubleshoot client files. Identifying problems, advising supervisor and implementing solutions.

**  Create mechanical layouts and overlays.

**  Prepare and complete transfer of component files to appropriate designations.

**  Select and apply appropriate ICP or other work flow as determined by workload, job requirements and schedules.

**  Assemble jobs utilizing Photoshop or appropriate ICP workflow.

**  Complete basic masking of components as assigned and directed.

**  Check and maintain monitor color calibration to ensure compliance to ICP specification and standards.

**  Assist other operators as needed to meet deadlines and commitments.

**  Provide training and assistance to other team members as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Formal Training in Quark, Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop

Minimum of two (2) years computer graphic design experience in a MacIntosh environment.

Salary will commensurate with experience.
