This position is located in Newport, Rhode Island. Responsibilities include proofreading and copyediting technical publications relating to Navy platforms; providing editorial services for academic materials ranging from syllabi to monographs to scholarly journals; proofing Adobe Acrobat files.

 

3+ years proofreading or copyediting in publishing environment, preferably following Chicago Manual of Style or GPO Style Guide; BA in English; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and at least one desktop publishing program (Ventura 8 a plus). Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines and to communicate effectively with editors, document processors, and illustrators. Ability to apply different levels of proofing as required.
