Position

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position.

We are looking for a hands-on, confident and proactive individual to join our team.

We offer excellent training and a professional team environment. The pay during the training period (approximately three months) for this position is $12.00 per hour.

 

Essential Duties

Proofread scanned and edited documents. Check for pagination and formatting errors. Must be able to find typographical, semantic, formatting, etc., errors in legal documents. Attention to detail a must in this position.

 

Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate:

? Proven ability to establish goals and execute strategies. Must be articulate, motivated and organized.

? A flawless command of the English language. A proofing test will be given.

? Excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills.

? High level of initiative.

? Strong organizational skills.

? Ability both to work independently (for long hours at a time) and as a team player.

? Commitment to excellence.

? Ability to adapt well to change.

?Pattern matching ability.

 

Education

Four-year college degree preferred, or equivalent education/experience.

 

Advancement

The successful proofreader can advance to an editorial position. Advancement is based on proven ability with proofreading, demonstrated ability to learn desktop publishing programs, and mastery of the basics of the codification process.

 

Process

Interested candidates must take a proofreading test at our office in Seattle. The test takes about 40 minutes. Resumes should be submitted at the time the test is taken and should indicate education level and computer software experience.
