Quality Assurance Tester

Rodale Inc is seeking a Quality Assurance tester to develop manual test plans and automated scripts using Quick Test Pro (QTP) for new J2EE Web site publishing software which is on a Websphere Oracle9i / Vignette 7 multi application platform. This position will be based in the New York City office.

Responsibilities include:
<LI> Minimum of 3 years of strong experience in automated testing of Web based applications using the Mercury Interactive tools QTP and Quality Center/TestDirector
<LI> Experience in using all kinds of variables (Local, Global, Environment) in QTP
<LI> Experience in enhancing the QTP recorded code, parameterization, using regular expressions, dealing with object properties and dealing with the dynamic objects using Descriptive Programming
<LI> Connecting to Quality Center/TestDirector from QTP and saving the recorded scripts in the Test Plan Module
<LI> Strong experience in using all the modules (Requirements, Test Plan, Test Lab and Defects) of Quality Center/TestDirector
<LI> Experience in setting up the test sets, setting up the execution flow and schedule the tests in the Test Lab module
<LI> Executing the test scripts from the Test Lab module and logging the defects
<LI> A very good team player with excellent ability to learn new technologies in short time

The ideal candidate will possess:
<LI> Determines test objectives and standards by studying web application and UI requirements; writing test cycle plans
<LI> Determines test objectives by studying software requirements; writing test strategy, test plans, test case scripts
<LI> Executes test cases and report anomalies (bugs) by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, and displaying issues
<LI> Identifies software capability and reliability by conducting functional, regression, and performance testing cycles
<LI> Resolve open testing issues by coordination with development team and business users during QA and UAT test cycles
<LI> Reports test outcomes by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, and displaying data; recommending software changes
<LI> Maintains defect-tracking issues in Test Director database and track issue resolution
<LI> Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies
<LI> Maintains QA test environment as part of SDLC; enforcing SDLC approved procedures, rules, and regulations
<LI> Strong verbal and written communication skills
<LI> Ability to thrive in a multiple project environment
<LI> Contributes as a team player in accomplishing related tasks as needed
<LI> Excellent oral/written communication skills,
<LI> 5 + years manual testing experience, Black Box Testing, White Box Testing, J Test, Reporting test results, Usability Testing Software Documentation
<LI> Mercury LoadRunner experience a plus
