This ReporterAuthor will play a vital role in the daily gathering and reporting of important news, events, and developments regarding the Securities and Exchange Commission, Congress, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, federal agencies, industry groups, and professional organizations. The ReporterAuthor will be responsible for crafting concise, insightful articles that command the attention of corporate executives, financial managers, legal counsel, accountants, and auditors.
1. Possess a working knowledge of SEC, PCAOB, Congress, andor FASB, AICPA, IASB.
2. Cover newsmaking events such as conferences, press briefings, and Congressional hearings.
3. Interview key players in government agencies, Congress, industry organizations, and professional organizations.
4. Write concise, clear copy on deadline that provides the timely information that financial executives, corporate management, and accountants and auditors require to succeed.
Qualifications
5-7 years as financial
egulatory reporterjournalist.
Possess a working knowledge of Wall Street, NYSE, NASD, FASB, AICPA, SEC, and PCAOB as well as Congress and industry associations.
Demonstrated ability to develop sources and break news while working on tight schedules.
Demonstrated ability to develop in-depth articles about significant issues.
Able to maintain regular, productive contact with newsmakers.
Prefer Candidates in the New York City area, but will consider candidates in other locations as well.
