Sales Manager

Job Summary:

Manage a sale?s team of commission reps / groups, house reps, and telephone reps selling OUP?s trade, academic, and reference product to independent, specialty, and bible accounts throughout the United States.

Primary Responsibilities:Achieve sales revenue and growth targetsManage cooperative advertising and expense budgetForecast sales; analyze results; track trends and rep / territory management goals vs. results Develop, evaluate, coordinate, and execute cooperative marketing and sales promotions Coordinating launch/planning/pre-sales/sales-conference materials and reporting, and follow up on any post-meeting tasks Help coordinate flow of support materials and sales tools to sales repsPrepare seasonal presentations and key publishing initiatives to commission groups Prepare backlist reviews with major accounts. Attend weekly sales meetings to review POS and interpret results, as well as periodic business reviews with client and major customersEvaluate current account base, current resources / commission groups, and make recommendations Attend all Trade Shows.Keep appropriate in-house staff apprised of sales developments and trends. Create territory / key account or channel call reportsWork with in house staff to manage the list (trade, academic, professional, and reference) by planning sales and marketing campaignsBe leading voice for field and specialty account sales trends and numbers at editorial and sales meetings

Job Requirements:College graduate with minimum 5 years field sales management or related experience. Experience managing commission groups is strongly preferred.Candidate must be creative and have an enthusiastic and energetic approach to mining field sales opportunities and managing a territory.Experience restructuring field sales forces and setting up territories. A familiarity with working with all kinds of accounts and account contacts.Experience selling a wide range of titles from trade to academic.Excellent organization, customer service, negotiating, and analytical skillsMust have superior presentation, communication and relationship building skills.Person must be willing to travel but be located in OUP?s New York Office
