BASIC FUNCTION: 

? This position is primarily responsible for making print job assignments to operators.

? Training employees how to operate printing equipment.

? Operating alongside print operators.

? Resolving printer quality issues involving vendor technicians when necessary.

? Keeping abreast of all print jobs entering the spool queue and initiate printing.

? Setting a good example as a leader.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES: 

? Responsible for daily tracking/scheduling assigned print jobs.

? Responsible for scheduling and confirming system upgrades/maintenance are met.

? Responsible for assuring operations procedures and guidelines are followed.

? Responsible for technical development of employees.

? Work with service technicians to achieve optimum support.

? Work with external department representatives and management to provide high-level assistance.

? Responsible for effectively administering necessary disciplinary action when required.

? Responsible for assuring consumables are properly used.

? Provide first line Quality Control assurance of work produced during shift hours.

? Responsible for meeting production deadlines.

? Perform routine measure of accomplishment for each employee assigned.

? Operating printers when work requires it.

? Training employees how to operate all equipment in the department.

? Determine need and call for technical assistance from vendors.

? Maintain written turnover logs and incident reports.

? Maintain currency of Job Status board.

? Order forms using Pro-Mail.

? Ability to IPL mainframe, perform backups and assist technical support personnel in troubleshooting network and systems outages.

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

Education:

? Associates Degree in Information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience

 

Experience:

? 1+ years working experience as a Lead Operator

? 2+ years working experience in Print Operations Environment

 

Knowledge:

? Must have clear knowledge of the US Postal Service requirements; Bar-coding, zip + 4, bulk rate and north/south sorting.

? Must have clear knowledge and the ability to operate Laser/LED printing products; Siemens 372 Page Stream, Siemens 2140, Siemens 2300 MICR, Siemens 2200, Xerox 9790 MICR, Siemens 2030 MICR, RSI.

? Must have clear knowledge of Quality Control and all Print Operations procedures.

? Must have clear knowledge of how to operate an IPL and IBM4381, and associated hardware and software.

? Must be capable of assisting remote support personnel in the troubleshooting and restoration of Mainframe and Communications Network Systems.

? Knowledge of trimming, folding and insertion is a plus.Ability to communicate in verbal and written English.
