Technical Services Representative II

Basic Function:

 

Under supervision of the National Technical Service Manager, is responsible for providing technical service: investigates customer complaints, solves technical problems and provides feedback to R&D for product reformulation.

 

Responsibilities:

 

1. Visits accounts to monitor press trials at the direction of the National Technical Service Manager.

2. Performs basic reformulation as required, altering properties such as tack and viscosity to meet customer needs.  Provides feedback to R&D if complex reformulation is required.

3. Prepares detailed reports on technical problems encountered at customer locations for distribution to manufacturing and technical personnel.

4. Performs detailed assessment of customer quality by using current industry print quality techniques.

5.  Utilizes basic lab equipment and tests as tools in solving customer problems.

6.  Participates in seminars at customer locations on various topics concerning offset printing.

 

Organizational Relationships:

 

Normal contact with laboratory and branch personnel.  Limited contact with sales personnel and customers as follow up for technical reports.

 

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

 

BS degree in a physical science or equivalent experience.  5-7 years prior experience with emphasis on technical service at customer accounts. Working knowledge of equipment to evaluate print quality a plus. (Transmission/Reflection Densitometers, Plate Meters, Digital Camera/Microscope)
