The Technical Writer has the responsibility and authority to develop, generate required artwork, and publish (in accordance with Technical Communications and Medtronic Corporate Guidelines) Instructions for Use in all manner of other Labeling (as defined by the FDA) for Medtronic Powered Surgical Solutions products.

 

? Creates and publishes IFU?s (manuals, inserts, instruction sheets and other product related publications).

? Develops, creates and publishes other labeling as required.

? Interfaces cross-functionally, as necessary, in the creation of all such documents.

? Liaises with translators in the preparation and creation of multi-lingual documents.

? Liaises with printware suppliers to ensure required quality and precision in the reproduction of the developed labeling.

? Complies with the Medtronic Powered Surgical Solutions Quality System.

? Complies with Medtronic Branding Strategy.

? Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

? An appropriate Bachelors / Masters degree / or equivalent experience.

? Familiarity with electrical, electronic and mechanical components and terminology.

? Understanding of Medical Technology, Medical Devices or Technology-based Clinical field would be highly beneficial.

? Good working knowledge of current desktop publishing tools, specifically (but not exclusively) Adobe In-Design, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop is essential.

? Sufficient understanding of printing industry requirements and techniques to enable efficient liaison with third-party printware suppliers.

? Good working knowledge of current ?e-Labeling? tools/authoring languages, such as HTML, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc would be highly beneficial.

? Excellent writing/grammatical skills, presentation skills, organizational skills and a great attention to detail are required.

? Good oral communication and negotiation skills are desirable.

? Effective cross-functional team member.

? Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly.

? Must have a high tolerance for ambiguity.

? Must be able to work in a team environment and exert influence without alienating others.

 

Preferences:

? An appropriate Bachelors / Masters degree with a minimum of four years/two years of experience in a highly regulated industry (preferably Medical Devices).
