Schawk is an NYSE traded company, headquartered in Des Plaines, IL, with offices worldwide.  We are now interviewing for a Traffic Manager for an on-site position with one of our clients located Summit, NJ.

 

The Traffic Manager will be responsible for coordinating all pre-media activities between Client?s Design Managers (SPDM?s), printers; and Schawk?s Account Management Team, domestically, as well as in Asia and Europe. The position will require strong communication and organizational skills, knowledge of the various phases of packaging production, (creative design, production art, prepress and printing) and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines. The Traffic Manager will play a key, proactive role in managing packaging development activities within the client organization.

2.  Quality:

 

?  Work on deliverables and workflow for client to ensure quality is being vet per client standards

?  Clearly communicate clients demands for quality and standards to Production Team at Schawk Minneapolis

?  Document issues and makes production workflow suggestions to address any issue that has arisen, to ensure it doesn?t happen again

?  Understand client revisions and communicate them clearly to the Account Management team at Schawk Minneapolis

?  Scan UPC?s and verify accuracy

 

3.  Production Management of the packaging development process:

 Cleary communicate client?s timelines and production needs both internally and externallyWork with Account Management team to ensure that a daily production schedule is generated and kept up to dateEnsure productivity levels are being executed on timely basisReview/QC all production projects at each stage to ensure quality resultsEnsure all tracking information is properly entered in systems and is up to date on a daily basisSupport Sales Executive in documenting and adjusting workflows to address quality issues so they are not repeatedStrive to continuously improve workflows based on new technologies, and changing environments.Communicate new technologies to production group to help improve efficiency and decrease costs.

 

4.  Account Management of project:

 Communicate openly with client before budgets are exceeded. Provide options or alternatives to help them achieve their initiatives in a more cost effective mannerWork with team to create more efficient and profitable workflowsEnsure project details are entered into tracking system on a daily basis so the record is up to dateInteract with client on daily basis communication status, providing input and consultation on projectsPrint and present all production/prepress proofs that require client approvalParticipate in client meetings and presentations as requiredCommunicate any job issues to client on a timely basesPromote the organization with existing clients and potential prospectsDevelop strong trusting relationships with client contacts

 

5.  Training and development:

?  Seek support and learning from others to meet or exceed developmental expectations

?  Assess skill strengths and shortcomings of yourself and the team as a whole to determine development needs

?  Offer training and support in a positive respectful manner

 

 

Position Requirements:

 

?  Education: Graduate from Graphic Arts, Technical program or equivalent

 

?  Experience: At least 2 years experience in packaging/promotions environment

  Flexographic Experience preferred

  Experience in the packaging and premedia prepress process

 

?  Other Skills: Positive ability to influence for results

  Strong oral and written communication skills

  Detailed organizational skills

  Ability to work in a team environment

  Time management skills

  Familiarization with art/page layout programs Adobe Photoshop,   Illustrator and InDesign and the  Microsoft suite of applications
