Your tasks
Research contract provisions and update contract summaries in GRS for mechanical royalty calculations by obtaining copies of agreements from Business Affairs, so that terms can be entered in the Artist Contract Summary System and staff can code the assets once for all forms of exploitation, thus saving a significant amount of time by lessening the need for re-coding of royalty rates.. Assist the Associate Director with the clean up of back catalog and cut outs by reviewing the applicable contractual terms of the artist agreements and processing retroactive adjustments as necessary. Coordinate in requests for reduced mechanical rates being negotiated with publishers to reduce the expected mechanical royalty cost for the label. Explain the application of controlled rates to publishers and artists' representatives. Provide accruals and estimates of expenses, for royalties, finance and the label. Assist the Associate Director in monitoring the exceptionally heavy release schedule for Discos, to ensure timely calculation of products.

Our requirements
Position requires knowledge of standard copyright clearance procedures for physical audio releases. Applicants must have experience with reading and analyzing controlled composition clauses in artist agreements, applying them to royalty calculations, and summarizing them for interdepartmental use. Must know standard mechanical licensing procedures and the application of producer agreements as well.

The position also requires: ability to handle many complex and time-sensitive projects simultaneously and to quickly and accurately complete a very high volume of work under intense deadline pressure; flexibility and the ability to deal with project uncertainty and change; independent follow-through on projects; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent quantitative and analytical skills; outstanding attention to detail and to organization; and capacity to communicate with a wide range of persons both inside and outside the company in a professional manner.

Computer skills required: experience working with general indexing databases, advanced proficiency in Excel and Word. Candidates bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
