Web Writer

Overview:

 

The Corporate Web Team at Palm, Inc. is looking for an experienced Web Writer to provide copy support for Palm.com and associated Internet and ecommerce-related projects. This individual will conceptualize, write, and edit compelling original content including promotional copy, instructional copy, headlines, banners, links, descriptions, newsletter copy, and other relevant content. The Web Writer must also ensure copy is consistent with Palm messaging and is responsible for the style and strategy of content across the Palm sites and other online communications. Strong writing and editing skills are critical for success.

 

Responsibilities:

 

?  Develop compelling web and other online content including product pages, accessory and promotional copy, online advertisements, enewsletter content, instructional text, and more

?  Manage work of contract copywriters where needed

?  Maintain the editorial integrity and voice of all internet messaging via careful editing to ensure appropriate and consistent customer communications

?  Ensure all online content supports and enhances Palm?s brand and usability

?  Meticulously review and edit site content generated by other business teams and writing resources

?  Work with cross-functional teams to determine the best content for each product or feature being released to the site, and serve as the content expert on these teams

?  Manage and maintain content to keep it fresh and up to date

?  Uphold and evangelize content quality standards

 

Qualifications:

 

?  Minimum of 5 or more years of professional copywriting and editing experience, prior experience writing in an ecommerce environment preferred

?  B.S./B.A. in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field

?  Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills including strong knowledge of grammar and syntax

?  Deadline-driven professional able to multitask within a fast-paced environment

?  Experience writing for monthly or weekly publications

?  A team player who works well with a variety of individuals and work styles

?  Strong organizational and project management skills

?  Attention to detail is required
