Buyer 1 - Hunting Apparel/Workwear

Department / Location: Merchandising / Corporate Office
Reports To: DMM - Hunting Apparel/Tackle





Duties:

The Buyer is responsible for achieving Sales, Margin and Turnover plans
In addition, they are also responsible for:

Product selection and development of private label goods, both for initial and special buy quantities
Planning their business in conjunction with the Planning and Operations departments
Developing merchandise assortments by category and continually evaluate, analyze, and adjust these assortments
Vendor relations to include selection, negotiation, communication, and partnership development
Vendor compliance monitoring and development of import quality standards
Open-to-Buy, pricing, and markdown management
Advertising, promotion prep and execution of advertising strategies and plans, including Co-op procurement
Analyze, forecast, and interpret market and consumer trends
Merchandise presentation direction and guidelines
Development of Assistant Buyer

Successful Candidate Requirements:

Strong analytical skills
Proficient in Excel and MS Word
Strong communication skills
Excellent negotiating skills

Experience:

3 - 5 years previous retail buying experience
Experience in merchandising hunting or hunting apparel/ workwear strongly preferred

Minimum Education:

Bachelors degree required
