Buyer - Area MRO Purchasing

Buyer of MRO Commodities
The position is responsible for negotiating contracts and developing supplier relationships to provide a competitive advantage to Tower Automotive's purchase of MRO supplies and services.

Major responsibilities:
To support North American centralization initiative. Reduce the number of MRO suppliers, reduce prices, gain enhanced commercial terms, and provide improved service through the strategic development of suppliers for MRO supplies and services.
Develop and implement a process to achieve maximum cost savings, measure and track supplier performance and enhance strategic sourcing through well-defined contracts.

Technical requirements:
General purchasing background with minimum of five years experience in a purchasing role of a large manufacturing organization. Must have background in purchasing practices, strategy development, implementation, and negotiation. Must have good communication skills and project management experience. Experience as a plant buyer that includes process development are key assets for this role. Good business acumen and interpersonal skills and comfort with working with all levels of the organization are key.
