Buyer, Assistant - TV's, DVD Equipment

Responsibilities:

Responsible for assisting the Buyer in the procurement of TV?s, DVD equipment along with additional departmental items by reviewing vendor products, cost analysis and competitive retail strategy and conducting vendor negotiations.  Responsibilities will also include developing sales and profit margin plans, maintaining margin and determining turnover objectives.  Assists in the development of e-commerce items.  Also performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.  Occasional travel is required.

Requirements:

 

A general knowledge of retailing and merchandising techniques as well as a minimum of 1 to 3 years experience as a Planner, Assistant Buyer, Replenishment Specialist or equivalent position in a high volume grocery, wholesale club or a general merchandising environment is required. Prior planograming experience a plus.  Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills along with strong attention to detail are also essential. Excellent PC skills are also required.  A Bachelors Degree in retail management or business administration is preferred.
