Buyer/Planner - MRO

The Position:
Responsible for the procurement of MRO items and services for the Sarasota Florida facility including but not limited to: facility services, engineering parts and equipment, uniforms, vending machines, office supplies etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicates continuously with MRO vendors and suppliers negotiating contracts, reviewing quantities, price, availability, covering possible adjustments, non-conforming materials, delivery methods/problems, and sourcing of new items and/or raw materials.
Works closely with MRO vendors/suppliers to implement JIT programs where appropriate.
Prepares purchase orders and/or bid requests maintaining records in electronic and in some cases paper form.
Works with internal departments verifying inventory levels of MRO items, and supplies.
May assist the Director of Procurement in sourcing other and/or new materials, items.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associates degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar field required, BA or BS highly preferred. A.P.I.C.S. certification preferred. Additional coursework or seminars in materials management preferred.
Experience:
1 to 3 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner. Manufacturing experience highly preferred. Additional warehouse/inventory experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Must be a self starter, possessing excellent negotiation / communication skills, able to speak, read, and write in English and enjoy working with a diverse employee base. Must be highly proficient in the use of Office. Previous use of other databases a plus. Must be able to compute complex mathematical equations with many variables expressed in percentages, ratios, decimals, and fractions as well as able to follow statistical model as required. Must have the aptitude to analyze reports, review statistical models, memos etc., to allocate/purchase MRO items and services. Must be highly organized, able to carry out multiple functions simultaneously. Knowledge of manufacturing organization structure, policies, and procedures preferred. Ability to report to work on-time, on a consistent and regular basis required.
