Buyer/Planner, Sr - Fremont, 15728

Job Description: Responsibilities: The Senior Buyer/Planner will perform senior level duties with regard to the procurement of materials and coordination of delivery schedules with suppliers in conjunction with establishing, scheduling, monitoring, and planning production builds and resources while utilizing an MRP II system.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities


Procure raw and sub-contract materials while coordinating delivery schedules with suppliers in conjunction with production requirements and corporate inventory goals. Handling multiple tasks at one time and completing tasks in parallel. Need to maintain and reason through multiple buying issues at one time.

Establish, plan, schedule, and monitor production builds in conjunction with meeting customer requirements and corporate inventory goals. Track and interpret data relating to parts in order to make decisions on production, buying, receiving and inventory.


Utilize and maintain an MRP II system to define procurement and scheduling needs to satisfy customer requirements and corporate inventory goals. Understanding of formulas, analyzing data and conducting research on parts in order to problem solve any outstanding issues.


Interface and communicate with suppliers to ensure performance expectations and optimal business relationships.


Review, approve, and coordinate engineering changes (ECO's), temporary authorities (T/A's), and MRB activities as required.


Maintain and assist in the development and implementation of new products NPIS), quality standards (FDA, GMP, QSR, & ISO) and associated project/process improvements (WCM, kanbans, JIT, Dock-to-Stock). Ability to create and plan a project time line to determine when tasks need to be completed.


Analyze and resolve routine quantity and dollar discrepancies while interfacing with representatives from Production, Cost Accounting, and Inventory Control.


Assist in the evaluation, selection, and monitoring of suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost.


Assist in the development of partnerships and establishing contracts with suppliers as required. This involves negotiating skills & the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with suppliers.



Position Qualifications
Minimum education: Bachelor degree or equivalent.

Minimum experience: 5-8 years experience as a buyer /planner, preferably in medical device/healthcare industry. Experience with
MRP II necessary. Strong interpersonal skills. APICS education a plus. Or, equivalent combination of education/experience required to perform at this level.
