Buyer, Procurement (Fixture Purchasing)

The Buyer - Fixture Purchasing is responsible for procuring on behalf of the Sears enterprise a variety of field supplies to address present and future business requirements. Activities to be conducted include establishing, coordinating and negotiating various types of purchase agreements for a variety of field operation Fixture related items. In this role, the Buyer will have significant influence on the selection of strategic suppliers, underlying financial aspects of sourcing transactions, and interact with all levels of management both internal and external to Sears. The Buyer must be resourceful in achieving business requirements and properly balance the near-term and longer-term outcome of significant purchasing choices and transactions, and remain current regarding marketplace and industry trends affecting the product offerings.

Qualifications
Responsibilities include:

- Capturing business requirements within Fixture Agreements with an emphasis on the financial aspects of sourcing transaction, while leveraging the overall present / potential supplier relationship.
- Conducting strategic sourcing projects including the preparation of Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Request for Quotation (RFQs) and Invitation to Bid (ITBs) and evaluate responses and determine final supplier selection.
- Achieving operating expense and capital investment cost reduction objectives through competitive marketplace analysis, and evaluation of relevant industry benchmarked prices.
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding regarding products offerings, as well as emerging industry trends/product developments, that impact Sears' operational and distribution practices.
- Assisting with managing cost, volume, inventory levels and turnover to minimize expense dollars.
- Participating in joint meetings with clients to assist in procurement forecasting, demand management, requirements' development, and identification of possible purchasing channels and sources.
- Negotiating with suppliers on areas of spend and/or changes to existing orders that assures the price paid reflects the greatest overall value and lowest total cost of ownership for Sears.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree, highly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of fixture procurement experience
- Working knowledge of strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and with internal and external contacts.
- Excellent mathematical and technical aptitude with above average analytical skills.
- Above average writing and communicating skills.
- Highly motivated and trustworthy individual requiring little or minimal supervision.
