Primary Objective of Position: To plan and execute complex procurement and/or production plans.

Buying; Buy components and commodities for production.
--Analyze requirements.
--Work with supplier to plan supplier's capacity.
--Place purchase requisitions.
--Negotiate price, terms, and conditions.
--Status orders.
--Visit suppliers.
--Establish Material Procurement and/or Production plans requiring judgement on more complex matters.
--Support the development of long term strategies in the major areas of accountability.
--Independently execute plans with significant business impact.
--Make decisions which have a broad and long-term impact on major areas of accountability.

New Program Support
--Interface with other functional groups and suppliers to provide new program support.

Leadership; Provide leadership and support.
--May give work direction to other employees.
--Participate in training.

Inventory; Manage inventory levels.
--Participate in leadtime reduction.
--Review surplus.

Special Projects; Complete special projects as assigned.
--Participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean activities.
--Participate in cost-reduction activities.
--Work on multi-functional teams.

Strategic Planning; Participate in strategic planning.
--Formulate strategic planning.
--Understand strategic initiatives.

Government Familiarity
--Maintain familiarity and ensure compliance with government, industry, and import/export regulations as required.

Market Knowledge
--Study market trends.

Qualified cadidates will have a minimum of a bachelors degree in business or related field and 4 years of purchasing experience.
